REVIEWS OF OUR OUTDOOR RETREAT

I have been to hunting lodges all over the world, but this is a hunting lodge where you come as clients and leave as family. The hunting is world class, with a down-home Oklahoma family tradition. Plain and simple, the food, the lodge, the hospitality could not be better. Hog hunting is 2nd to none, it's the best I have ever experienced. Large boars abound on the property. And this is a low fence operation. All game roams freely, across 5000 beautiful acres. Turkey's abound in plentiful numbers. Deer hunting is phenomenal. Accommodations are great. Hardwood is a real working cattle ranch, with over 1000 head on the ranch. It's like going back in Western history to see all the cattle. I was lucky enough to be able to go along with EP to feed the cattle. If you have children, ask them to go along with EP and feed the cattle and baby calfs. It is quite the sight. EP's mother, Miss Susie, does the cooking, which is excellent. If you go away hungry it's your fault. Views from the top of their mountain are beautiful. You can see for 30 miles on a clear day, 

If you are a hunter like me, and deer, hogs, turkey, doves or just looking for a quiet place to rest your soul for a day or a week, this is the place. Hardwood Outdoors is the experience you have to try. And if you are lucky, you might just get a chance to meet the Brian Quaca, Pig Man from the Outdoor TV Show "Pigman". He visits the ranch often, and I was lucky enough to meet him. So you can't go wrong, taking a week out to visit this iconic Oklahoma Hunting Ranch. Try it, you can't go wrong, and you won't be disappointed.

I want to thank the staff for the more than gracious and accommodating hunt this year. From my experiences, there are opportunities at every stand location to tag a great buck. This was my 3^rd time to hunt with EP, and had success each time. This year’s hunt was one of the best and exciting hunts I’ve ever been on. The highlight this year was when after I shot my buck, and while gathering up my gear to go inspect my deer, I realized a larger buck was fighting with the dead dear and pushing him down the side of the hill. I called EP to let him know I had one down and If another hunter wanted to come and to try and shoot the other deer, because he was still in the area. EP and another hunter came to where I was at and quickly rattled him out, which gave my buddy an opportunity to pull the trigger. It almost felt like It was being filmed for show on the “Outdoor Channel”. Not sure if it was just the adrenalin or pure excitement, but unfortunately he missed the shot. Either way that was one of the most exciting hunts I’ve ever experienced. So looking forward to returning next season and thanks again for everything!
